Más de 23 mil reproducciones desde diversos lugares del país y del mundo para vivir una oferta musical y académica diversa e incluyente, celebrada por primera vez a través de las plataformas digitales y con acceso gratuito.
“El Centro de Bogotá es un territorio de creatividad y diversidad y con el Festival Centro lo reafirmamos. Estamos sumamente satisfechos con los resultados de esta edición que nos mostró nuevos caminos para vivir y disfrutar la diversidad musical que identifica el Centro de la ciudad. Cuatro días en los que impulsamos la reactivación del sector y logramos acercar el talento de los artistas y agrupaciones del Centro de Bogotá a un clic del mundo”, señaló Margarita Díaz Casas, directora (e) de la Fundación Gilberto Alzate Avendaño.
La agenda académica del Festival ofreció en sus jornadas de cierre tres charlas en las que la música y su relación con otras disciplinas fueron el tema principal. El viernes Juancho Valencia, Johan Velandia y Yhonatan Loaiza (moderador) conversaron sobre el rol de la música en los montajes teatrales en la charla Las músicas y los cuerpos en la escena. El sábado el turno fue para Carmen Gil, José Manuel Berenguer (España) y Felipe César Londoño, quienes protagonizaron el espacio Música y performanc,e en la que abordaron
la relación de la música y el arte. El domingo el turno fue para los escritores Juan Álvarez y Octavio Escobar y el periodista Jaime Andrés Monsalve. Bajo el nombre De la “música ligera” y las escrituras actuales, hablaron de diferentes temas entre ellos la musicalidad y el ritmo que debe tener una novela.
En cuanto a las presentaciones musicales, la cuota del Centro de la ciudad estuvo a cargo de Mismo Perro Beat y su hip hop bogotano, el dúo bogotano Flor de Jamaica, Hombre de Barro y sus sonidos ancestrales, Ensamble Baquiano y música llanera y latinoamericana y Cescru Enlace con el rap que los ha convertido en un referente del Barrio Las Cruces, propuestas que mostraron todo el talento de las localidades de Los Mártires, Santa Fe y La Candelaria.
Como invitados distritales estuvieron las agrupaciones Romperayo y sus sonidos colombianos llenos de sicodelia, el ska de la banda ibaguereña Dafne Marahuntha y la fiesta de La Recontra, que con una gran variedad de ritmos puso a bailar a más de un centenar de personas desde sus casas.
Homenajes y procesos de formación musical
El Festival Centro 2021 visibilizó procesos de formación musical para niños y jóvenes, como el programa Vamos a la Filarmónica de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá, el programa Crea del Idartes y Cantoalegre de Medellín, en un homenaje a su fundadora Tita Maya.
El Quinteto Leopoldo Federico, uno de los grandes exponentes del tango en Latinoamérica y tres veces nominado al Premio Grammy Latino, hizo parte del homenaje al compositor argentino Astor Piazzolla, con canciones como Biyuya, Zum, Milonga del ángel, Adiós nonino y Escualo.
El homenaje a los cien años del natalicio de Piazolla contó con la agrupación de jazz Escalandrum, liderada por Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla, nieto del mítico compositor. “Pipi” le rindió tributo a su abuelo con temas como Lunfardo, Primavera porteña, Oblivión, Tanguedia y Libertango, entre otros.
Y desde México se conectó con esta edición del Festival Centro la Bruja de Texcoco, que más que un proyecto musical y de performance mostró toda una instalación de la feminidad que propone nuevas formas, percepciones y tradiciones de la música mexicana.
El cierre del Festival estuvo a cargo de la agrupación LosPetitFellas, quienes aparte de sus grandes temas presentaron una alucinante puesta en escena bastante teatral con elementos como camas, neveras y cabinas telefónicas. Una propuesta que cerró una edición del Festival Centro que pasará a la historia como la primera totalmente virtual y gratuita, que marca el inicio de la programación cultural del Centro de la capital, en medio de la nueva normalidad.
