Lorena Clopatosky Mendoza, una chica trans y ex habitante de calle, ya no tiene que levantarse forzada por el frío de la intemperie; ahora lo hace en una casa, tranquila, cuenta con las tres comidas del día y un grupo de mujeres que se han convertido como en su familia. Todo esto gracias al Hogar de Paso Mujeres Diversas, ubicado en la localidad de Santa Fe en Bogotá.
Su historia está marcada por la calle, la estigmatización y la depresión: ese fue el mundo que la formó. Desde muy pequeña descubrió que le gustaba lo femenino, vestirse como mujer, jugar con muñecas; razón por la cual fue juzgada duramente por sus padres.
Es así como a los 11 años decidió irse de la casa de sus padres y vivir en la calle, en donde conoció todo tipo de personas que, para bien o para mal, contribuyeron a formar su personalidad. Su contexto estuvo constantemente obligándola a convertirse en trabajadora sexual, pero ella, gracias a su coraje y esfuerzo, logró montar una floristería, que en su momento fue muy próspero y le dio independencia.
Poco a poco, la calle y las adversidades a las que se enfrentó la hicieron valorar mucho más su vida, su salud, sus amigos; en otras palabras: la hicieron madurar a la fuerza. Aunque solía pasar el tiempo con atracadores, trabajadoras sexuales y drogadictos, Lorena se mantuvo firme en su deseo de consolidar su negocio y no tener que acudir a su familia para que le ayudara a subsanar sus necesidades básicas nunca más.
Aprendió a trabajar en lo que saliera, pero las flores siempre fueron su predilección, su manera de ganarse de la vida, de estar tranquila. Y es que ella tal vez se sentía como una flor: frágil, a veces dejándose llevar por el viento y muy bella para ser egoísta o para destilar odio, justificada en el contexto que le tocó vivir.
La estigmatización de la que fue víctima en razón de su orientación sexual y su apariencia fue un gran obstáculo para el desarrollo de su trabajo, pues los clientes que con esfuerzo consiguió desconfiaban de la calidad de sus productos por el simple hecho de ser una mujer trans, además ex habitante de calle. Como consecuencia de ese señalamiento constante, Lorena desarrolló una profunda depresión que la llevó a considerar la muerte.
El pasado 15 de noviembre, Lorena y varias de sus compañeras fueron las invitadas especiales de la Fundación Gilberto Alzate Avendaño para presenciar la puesta en escena de El Ensayo, una obra de teatro potente, bien interpretada y con una crítica social y política de gran alcance.
Muy sorprendida recorrió cada una de las 5 salas de exposición de la FUGA. Miraba una y otra vez las obras del III Salón Premio de Arte Joven, como intentando hallar nuevos significados, nuevas miradas. Se tomaba su tiempo para analizar cada sala, cada color, cada trazo. Destacó la belleza del estilo colonial de la casa y fue enfática al expresar que el arte sí es un vehículo de transformación social; que puede cambiar el destino indigno al que “muchas veces están condenadas las mujeres que viven entre prostitutas, drogadictos y pillos”.
Tras un breve recorrido por las salas de exposición, el grupo de chicas llegó a la obra “Efecto contra causa”, en el que la artista Catalina Mora estaba haciendo la exposición de su obra, que se trataba de un transfer fotográfico en bareque. Durante la presentación varias de las chicas trans intervinieron y dieron sus impresiones de la obra. Lorena, por su parte, encontró a la obra muy emotiva porque le hizo recordar a su familia, con quienes actualmente tiene una buena relación, pero no ve hace mucho tiempo.
Lorena estaba a la expectativa, pues se trataba de una obra muy sonada, con actores de alto nivel y con una temática profundamente reflexiva, muy pertinente con la realidad colombiana. Sentada en primera fila pudo disfrutar, junto con sus compañeras, de más de una hora de risas, gritos, suspenso y reflexiones sobre la violencia y la política. “Me gustó muchísimo, los actores son excelentes; me hicieron reír y acordarme de la historia de mucha gente”, señaló Lorena.
Al finalizar la función, Lorena y las demás chicas departieron con el elenco de la obra. Muy emocionada se tomó fotos con los actores, les preguntó por la obra, hizo comentarios de novelas donde los había visto y observó con detalle el auditorio desde la perspectiva del escenario. “Es un teatro muy grande y elegante, desde afuera no se ve así”. A paso lento abandonó el auditorio, mientras veía las luces, la tramoya y la cabina de sonido. Se despidió de los artistas y le recordó a sus compañeras y amigas: hay que volver.
